Synopsis: 

The Programmable Telemetry Processor Operations and Maintenance course is designed for training selected technicians in system configuration, operations and maintenance of the PTP equipment. The course objectives are accomplished through classroom assignments, discussions of the theory of operation, and the maintenance techniques associated with the Computer and Software for the PTP Windows NT version 1.33 equipment. 

Hands on PTP experience is gained in interactive Laboratory Exercises. This course does not cover in-depth troubleshooting the peripherals (printer, hard disks, CDROM, floppy drives, monitor or keyboard). 

Course knowledge is monitored via Student Assignments, a "Lecture/Discussion" type of instructional environment, and one Written and one Practical Test. 

Topics covered in this course include the following: 

  • Troubleshooting the PTP equipment to the failed Module or Card. 
  • Performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) on the PTP Computer. 
  • Creating PTP modules for designated applications. 
  • Practicing safe work habits with regard to "personal safety", and the avoidance of procedures that can result in equipment damage. .

  • None 
Note: 
  • Previous training that included troubleshooting and repair of PC type computers is recommended.
